Essentials For Standing In Evil Days: The Breastplate Of Righteousness.

Again we are reminded of Paul’s admonition for Spiritually Protective Equipment which ought to be “Standard Equipment” for Christian Ministry and Spiritual Warfare.

On last Sunday, I suggested the Belt of Truth. This essential equipment yields support for other essential equipment and if when used creates the defensive mindset for the bearer and the enemy.

Today I want to talk about the Breastplate Of Righteousness. What is Righteousness and how do you put it on.

Biblically speaking, righteousness is meeting God’s Perfect Standard and because of Sin none of us can achieve it. There is none righteous no not one. All have sinned and come short of The Glory of God, but because of the Atoning Works of Jesus Christ His Righteousness can be attributed to us.  The Breastplate literally protects internal organs: heart lungs etc the places from which Faith springs. This allows us to put on Jesus’s Righteousness  which gives us a Competitive Edge.

What are the Advantages of Putting on The Breastplate of Righteousness.

1.Helps us to Cultivate The Mindset of Christ. We cannot achieve Spiritual Success with a carnal mind. Paul admonishes us to let this mind which was in Christ Jesus be also in us On then can we think act and trust like Jesus, and only then can we become like Him.

2.Reinforces the fact that we are incomplete without Him. Faith in Him is Trusting Him and their is no better measure of  faith and trust than obedience. Paul makes a command of us in order to achieve Spiritual Warfare. It’s not optional.

3.Lastly putting on the Breastplate of Righteousness reminds both enemy and co laborers of our True Identify. It affirms who we are fighting with, those who advancing The Kingdom of Christ.   Too many believers are fighting against other believers.  Likewise it reminds us of whom we are fighting against. Beloved ours is to wage warfare against satan and his kingdom. To advance the Cause of Christ in a cruel and demonic world knowing Greater is He that is in us, than he who is in the world. It has to be a Defensive Battle to protect and reclaim that which belongs to Christ. We cannot retreat too many are depending on us and if we run we have no protection for our back so let’s go forward into battle.
